Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho is a worried Man after Covid-19 invaded his political circle.
Joho who cried for his Mombasa residents during the burial of ODM Mombasa county chairperson Mohammed Hatimy appealed to locals to fully adhere to the Covid-19 protocols.
Joho said Mombasa is worst hit by Coronavirus with the numbers increasing everyday.
While addressing journalists in Mombasa the county Chief expressed his shock on how Mombasa residents were contracting the disease and dying.
He urged locals not to relent but follow all Covid-19 containment measures.
“Let’s not joke around and argue about whether we have Covid-19 in the country or not. People are dying,” said Joho.
According to the Mombasa Governor, locals should take the responsibility of safeguarding themselves from coronavirus.
“You are not putting that face mask for me, you are doing it for your own safety,” reiterated Joho.
He said the county government will continue educating locals on how they can prevent further spread of Covid-19 in the locality.
He said the surge in positive cases in the county should worry anyone.
The surge in Covid-19 cases in Mombasa forced the county assembly to temporarily shut after 7 MCA’s tested positive for coronavirus.
The Finance committee Chairperson who is also nominated Member of the county assembly Mohammed Hatimy succumbed to lung infection suspected to be Covid-19 on Saturday morning.
He has been battling for him life at the Mombasa hospital’s ICU.
The late Hatimy was Joho’s closest ally and who secured the county assembly nomination twice.
