K-24 TV journalist hangs self

K24 TV Nakuru based journalist was on Sunday found dead at his parents firm in Elburgon, Nakuru county.

George Kori’s body was found dangling on a tree after he went missing on May, 21.

His mother Nancy Njeri had already reported the matter to police when she was told there was a body of a young man dangling in her firm.

She confirmed that indeed it was that of her first born George Kori aged 31.

“My son was a humble and disciplined young man,” said the mother.


It is reported that Mr. Kori was depressed and in many cases avoided his colleagues.

He has been silent and in most cases he did not file news stories to his editors on daily basis.

The incident occurs in the wake of looming lay-offs at the Mediamax Network Limited.

The Group CEO Ken Ngaruiya announced the lay-offs, second time in a year citing nose-diving revenue.

In a circular to the staff, the Mr. Ngaruiya said the company is streamlining its various departments to remain afloat.

Mediamax Network Limited is the home of various brands among them K24 TV, Kameme TV, Milele FM, Kameme FM, The People Daily News paper, Coast based Mijikenda station Msenangu FM among other brands.
