Kibera Member of Parliament Ken Okoth is dead.
Okoth succumbed to colorectal cancer at Nairobi hospital where he was rushed last night.
Okoth suffered multiple organ failure and died on Friday afternoon according to family.
The MP who first sought treatment in France has been updating Kenyans through social media on his health making Kenyans sympathising with him.
Many Kenyans lauded the Legislature for his brevity while tackling the killer disease.
Okoth has suffered cancer for long without knowing and he was always put on ulcers and bacterial infection treatment until he sought a second examination only to be told he was suffering from cancer.
“I was once put on treatment to manage stress, little did I know that I suffered cancer.” He once revealed.
The MP is reported to have cautioned doctors not to put him on life support machine at the Nairobi hospital despite family’s node.
The MP suffered colorectal cancer that affects both the colon and rectum. This causes many cancer deaths in the country.
Okoth once raised stir after he tabled bill in the National Assembly to legalise marijuana in the country.
His arguments were pegged on if legalised Bhang will pave way for proper research to ascertain its medical value.
He also argued that it will provide for clear growing and controlled trade that will ear the government tax.
However, Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiangi rubbished the bill saying it will kill the young generation.
