Coast Regional Commissioner John Elungata has issued a stern warning to police officers attached to Kisauni and Nyali constituency against colluding with criminals.
Elungata warned that such Police officers will be punished and expunged from the security service.
Addressing locals at Sarajevo grounds in Nyali Constituency, Elungata decried the increase of insecurity in Kisauni and Nyali areas saying the situation must be contained.
“It is a big shame for criminals to attack, injure and kill innocent locals right at the police station door step,” said Mr. Elungata.
He noted with concerns police laxity in Kisauni and Nyali constituencies insisting that serious action will be taken against them.
He appealed to locals to report rogue police officers directly to him so that they are pursued, arrested and punished.
“Do not remain quiet while things are falling apart please report these officers,” he urged.
Elungata wondered why Kisauni and Nyali areas are experiencing perennial insecurity cases.
“This shows there is mutual understanding and benefit between the gangs and security agents,” he said.
He said severe punishment will befall such officers.
Thi comes in the wake of increasing insecurity in the Northern part of Mombasa County.
