Kwale schools benefit from Base titanium community programs

Kwale based mining company, Base titanium has geared up towards improving community infrastructure and education in the County.

The company targets a supply of over 1,000 desks to primary school across the County in its vast community programs.

Addressing pupils, teachers and leaders at Jego and Vanga primary schools after handing over a total of 230 desks to the two primary schools, Base titanium Community affairs Supervisor Mwanaidy Ali said that the company was dedicated in ensuring improvement of infrastructure especially in Kwale schools.

She said that the efforts were part of the Company’s input in the County Integrated Development Plan and investing in education was a priority.

“If we invest in education we are actually investing in the future of Kwale County, our aim is to uplift the lives of locals,” she noted.

While receiving the donation, Vanga MCA Yusuf Mbwana expressed gratitude towards the mining company for its positive efforts in improving the education sector.

He applauded the public-private initiative from Base Titanium since most of  schools in Kwale county were facing challenges among them poor infrastructure and inadequate learning facilities.

Base titanium has also distributed 50 lockers to Kinondo secondary school, 50 more lockers to Magaoni secondary school and 30 desks to feeder nursery schools in Mwandimu and Masindeni villages within Kwale County.
