Lamu county Senator Anuwar Loitiptip has launched anti-Covid-19 campaign in the County.
Loitiptip said though 6 people recently tested negative of the disease in the County, preventive measures should be prioritised.
Speaking at Mpeketoni in Lamu on Saturday, Anuwar urged locals to regularly wash their hands with water and soap and sanitise their hands as well.
“We understand the challenges facing our county but we have to do everything possible to avert the pandemic,” noted the Senator.
Anuwar is distributing face masks, sanitisers, thermometers to be used in taking temperatures of locals in the county among other personal protective equipment.
“The disease is everyone’s responsibility, do not wait for your neighbor to guide you on how to prevent this disease take charge,” noted Mr. Anuwar.

He urged Lamu residents to maintain physical distancing at all times and minimise travelling.
Recently the Senator distributed water tanks and soaps to Lamu county dwellers.
Lamu residents have blamed Lamu county government for moving too slow in creating awareness on the disease and also for failing to initiate measures to prevent the disease.
The governor was recently criticised for spraying Lamu island with sea water claiming it would prevent the deadly disease.
