Police at Likoni sub county in Mombasa have recovered a body of a man who drowned in the Indian ocean.
Police say most likely the young man of about 24 years may have drowned in a different area and his body pushed by strong tides to ‘Senti kumi’ area along Shelly beach road, Likoni.
Village elder Hamis Mwalimu said the area has experienced such incidents of bodies of unknown people found floating at the sea shore.
“The body had no injuries at all, most likely the young man drowned while swimming, however we are not so sure about that, ” said Mwalimu.
Police have taken the body to the Coast General referral hospital morgue as investigation continues.
