A Nairobi court has awarded politician Miguna Miguna 7 M shillings for gross violation of his rights by the government.
The court further said that Dr. Miguna is a Kenyan and his birth rights cannot be changed.
Justice Chacha Mwita said that Miguna was apolitical refuge in Canada and despite having Canadian passport his Kenya citizenship cannot be changed.
“Declaring Miguna Miguna a prohibited immigrant in his own country is unconstitutional and I hereby declare it null and void,” said justice Mwita.
Miguna Miguna has been forced to cancel his two trips back to Kenya for what he termed being frustrated by the immigration department which declined to facilitate his return.
The fearless politician and Former Raila Odinga advisor was deported in March this year after leading a swearing in ceremony of Raila Odinga as the people’s president.
