A nurse attached to the African Medical and Research Foundation-AMREF who went missing on Thursday at Nairobi has been found at the Coast general referral hospital.
According to doctors, Margaret Kilelu was unconscious and was taken to the hospital by a ‘Good Samaritan’ on Thursday.
The doctors who did not reveal any details of the ‘Good Samaritan’ or his contacts said that Kilelu though she had no injuries on her body she was unconscious for some time.
“She was in a long grey dress and a black jacket when she left home but she was found with a Swahili lose dress ‘Dera’ and unconscious in Mombasa,” the family revealed.
Kilelu’s family wanted to airlift her to Nairobi for specialized medical examination but the hospital administration declined following her current condition.
According to the family Ms. Kilelu left her home at Tena estate in Nairobi on Thursday and was heading to her work place but never returned.
“How she reached Mombasa remains a puzzle,” said a family member.
Police have launched investigations over the matter.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department-DCI have teamed up with those from Nairobi in unearthing what could have happened to Ms. Kilelu.
