Jomvu constituency Member of Parliament Badi Twalib has raised concern over rampant land grabbing in the area saying the problem was slowing down development agenda in the area.
Speaking in Mombasa on Wednesday, Twalib said well connected business people were acquiring public land in the area in unclear circumstances.
He said most of the public land in the area have been grabbed something that has affected construction of public utility projects like schools and health centers.
The MP noted that he has received several complaints from section of the public over land grabbing cases alleging that some public land meant for construction of schools and health centers have been grabbed.
He called on the national land commission to investigate the matter and conduct audit of all title deeds issued in the area in the recent past.
Twalib also wants relevant government agencies to investigate and prosecute alleged land grabbers in the area.
