Jomvu MP Badi Twalib has embarked on road inspection projects across his constituency to ensure that the contractor accomplish up to standard work.
The MP expressed concerns that if the contractors are left on their own they may give a substandard work which will not be accepted by the leaders and his constituents.
He said residents were also closely monitoring the progress of the projects which would facilitate faster movement of goods and services and unlock the economic potential of Mombasa.
Among the areas he inspected were Jomvu kuu-Jitoni road in which the contract comprised of construction to bitumen standard of 11.7km road.
Twalib said the works also include drainage structures.
“As the representatives of the people I am also charged with the responsibility of monitoring, supervising and evaluating all roads in this area,” he said.
He said the ongoing infrastructure development will go a long way in enhancing and promoting sustainable development.
