Msambweni sub county residents in Kwale County have turned out to append their signatures to the Building Bridges Initiatives (BBI).
Residents led by ODM Msambweni parliamentary by-election candidate Omar Boga appended their signatures during the BBI signature collection exercise.
Those who spoke said they support the constitutional imitative as it seeks to unite the diverse Kenyan communities.
Boga who addressed journalists in Gombato area hailed the BBI as a document that seeks to increase resources to the counties.
He said BBI is a step in the right direction and seeks to increase money sent to the counties from 15 percent to 35 percent saying the huge devolved resources would transform the hitherto marginalised parts of Kenya.
The ODM flag bearer said the popular constitutional initiative will address the social-economic and political needs of the people.
Boga said the enhanced resources will see the devolved units realise meaningful development at the grassroots.
Zeitun Bakari a local women leader said the BBI process will ensure inclusivity especially for in positions of political leadership.
She said she is excited that many women leaders would be able to secure political positions in the counties and in the senate and the national assembly.
