Mvita Member of Parliament Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir has rubbished politicians criticising his ‘Skills mtaani’ program saying they are short of ideas.
Nassir said ‘Skills mtaani’ program has equipped youth with various skills thus transforming their lives.
According to Nassir, in fact such politicians criticising his project should be humble enough and visit his Mvita constituency to learn from the already existing project.
“We have no business responding to our opponents since they have nothing to show to their electorates, they are invited to our constituency to learn from us,” revealed Mr. Nassir.
He said Mvita CDF has been funding up to 60% of the fees while beneficiaries pay only 40 per cent of the total fees so that they are registered to tertiary institutions.
“Under this program, beneficiaries who want to pursue pastry, salonist, architects among disciplines have since initiated their income generating activities,” revealed the Lawmaker.
He said plans are underway to launch this year’s ‘Skill mtaani’ recruitment exercise that will also see another group of youth benefiting from the funded program.
He denied that the youth are registered to his personal institutions so that he makes money.
Nassir appealed to Mvita constituents to ignore such unjustified claims and closely work with him so that he transforms not only Mvita but Mombasa County as a whole.
Recently, Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo has been on Nassir’s neck claiming the ‘Skills mtaani’ program is marred by corrupt deals.
Mbogo also raised concerns with the bias recruitment of the beneficiaries.
However, Nassir slammed the claims terming them as baseless.
