Mvita Member of Parliament and Mombasa County Gubernatorial hopeful Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir visited his supporters who were injured after fracas marred Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party political rally at Mkomani grounds in Mombasa on Saturday.
During the political rally his opponent Mike Mbuvi Sonko who is also seeking to succeed the incumbent Ali Hassan Joho was roughed up and his convoy stoned by a group of youth when together with his running mate and Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo made their way into the Mkomani grounds for the Azimio rally that was graced by ODM leader and Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party Presidential Aspirant Raila Odinga.
Nassir condemned the incident cautioning youth against being invited to cause violence in any political rally.
The Mombasa Gubernatorial aspirant on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party ticket says his opponents too should not use political gimmicks and lure youth into political violence.
“We don’t want to throw blames to anyone but sadly our youth should stop being used and misused to cause political mayhem,” noted Nassir.
He wished Kennedy Kahiga from Kongowea, Moni Safari and Elman Yusuf both from Likoni quick recovery.
The three are admitted at the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital after they sustained serious injuries during the Saturday Mkomani grounds fracas.
The three are receiving urgent treatment and are responding well according to doctors.
