The Catholic Clergy presiding over the State Funeral Service of Former President Mwai Kibaki has warned that no politics will be entertained during the funeral.

Nairobi Archbishop Phillip Anyolo who was presiding over the funeral service shortly after President Uhuru Kenyatta and other dignitaries offered their last respects to the former head of state said no politics will be allowed during the state function.

He made the statement briefly before the word reading started.

In most funeral events attended by key political leaders, condoling with the bereaved families is usually the last thing or completely forgotten thing as politics takes centre stage.

In normal cases, politicians forget about the bereaved and only search for political mileage.

In other situations, Politicians have physically attacked each other and at times switching off the microphones so that their opponents do not address the mourners.
