Former Mombasa County secretary Francis Thoya has rejected a fresh reappointment.
Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho has offered him a post as the County public service board member.
Thoya said he can serve Mombasa residents as a citizen and not necessarily under the County government.
Thoya served as the Mombasa lands Executive member before becoming the County secretary.
It is not clear what transpired between him and his Boss but all was not well.
Thoya would later leave the post and it is clearly he is headed for the 2022 Mombasa County gubernatorial battle.
“The governor has offered me a post as a member of the county public service board, but I thank him and I will serve locals as a Mombasa citizen,” read Thoya’s response.
Thoya has been meeting local leader in various parts of the County and indeed, he is planning to take the Mombasa political heavyweight.
He is boasting the Mijikenda support in the county.
