The National Transport and Safety Authority- NTSA has raised concerns over increased road accidents in the country.
According to the public body mandated to oversee safety in the transport sector countrywide, there has been an upsurge in tragic road accidents in various parts of the country.
In recent figures released by NTSA, there was a 1.3 percent increase of roads accidents between January and September 30, 2020.
The report indicated that 2, 689 deaths were recorded between January, 1 and September, 30.
This is an increase of 34 deaths compared to 2,655 deaths recorded in the same period in 2019.
The transport regulatory body has also revealed that pedestrians recorded the highest number of fatalities with the same period registering a total of 971 deaths.
