Police in Mombasa have launched investigations over the death of two men in the Indian Ocean.
The unclear incident chocked locals enjoying the Wednesday afternoon sand beach along Fort Jesus national museum beach after the bodies of two men were recovered from the Indian Ocean.
Mombasa Police boss Johnston Ipara said that police were pursuing the incident to unleash what could have transpired leading to the loss of lives.
Speaking in Mombasa, Ipara said that the two men of Maasai origin had all their clothes intact including their shoes making it a puzzle for the police to quickly tell what could have triggered their deaths.
“According to what we have heard, they were five swimming but three escaped narrowly and the two whom we are yet to establish their relations allegedly drowned,” added Ipara.
The Coastline line has recorded such incidents over the past.
The bodies of the two have been taken to the Coast general hospital morgue.
