A police officer in Busia County has been disarmed, arrested and thrown into a forced quarantine after he allegedly raped a recovering Covid-19 patient.
According to reports, the police Officer is among other two officers and three wardens deployed to man the Busia Agricultural Training Centre set aside by the Ministry of health as an isolation centre for covid-19 patients.
According to the police one of the officers during the dead of the night and on patrol saw his colleague ‘engaging the patient’ and later heard commotion from the female ward that the officer was raping the patient.
Senior officers from Busia prison were called to the scene and disarmed the police Officer arrested and threw him into a forced quarantine.
He will be arraigned in court after completion of investigations.
