A Mombasa based religious leader has scoffed at politicians countrywide for causing major political division in the country.
The Man of God says politicians have taken the country into 2022 politics completely forgetting their roles in uplifting the lives of Kenyans.
Speaking at The Mombasa Jubilee Christian Church in Mombasa, The church resident Preacher Reverend Edwin Kanja said politicians have failed the efforts by the clergy who work towards uniting Kenyans.
He challenged politicians to thwart their empty rhetorics and unite the largely divided nation.
“The Building Bridges Initiative report may yield nothing, in fact it has resulted into major political division and heated exchange among politicians and Kenyans,” revealed Rev. Kanja.
He urged politicians to turn to God for guidance so that they change into constructive politics that will foster country’s development.
“We should not put high demands on politicians since they are only working towards selfish interest, unless they change the country will remain in the same state,” he said.
Kanja however is in admittance that religious leaders have a bigger role to play in uniting the country.
He appealed to religions leaders to take the lead role in guiding politicians to the right direction closer to God.
He asked religious leaders to intervene and contain the current heated BBI debate witnessed in the country.
Recently Deputy President William Ruto allies opposing the BBI report have been accusing ODM Leader Raila Odinga of attempting to block Ruto’s 2022 Presidential ambitions.
