ODM Party leader Raila Odinga has assured Kenyans that their problems will be a thing of the past when they embrace the Building Bridges Initiative-BBI.
Raila while addressing ODM delegates at Wild Waters hotel in Nyali, Mombasa said BBI is not meant to create top positions for political leaders.
He said the official BBI report will soon be released after the taskforce gathered views from Kenyans.
Raila criticised those opposing the initiative saying they want the country to remain in the current sorry state of affairs.
He told Coastal people to remain united and drum support for the Initiative.
“Politicians against this initiative are totally misinformed. It is through BBI that all Kenyans will enjoy and participate in managing and developing their own democracy,” noted Raila.
Raila who toured Taita taveta, Kwale and Mombasa meeting various ODM Coastal leaders to woo their support for the BBI said the initiative will ensure equality among Kenyans.
“We are all assured of a better country through BBI let’s not be cheated that this initiative will overburden us as Kenyans,” said Raila.
However, Deputy President William Ruto rubbished Raila claims saying Raila is only hungry for power.
The DP said the initiative is only pegged on creating political positions for few leaders at the expense of Kenyans.
According to the Deputy President, Kenyans should remain vigilant and change the country for good during the 2022 general elections.
“Why are they pained whenever I meet Kenyans?” Posed Ruto.
The Deputy President appealed to Kenyans to full support his journey to become the president come 2022 general elections.
