Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Sarai has rubbished ODM leader Raila Odinga’s remarks on the Building Bridges Initiative.
Sarai says Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta are imposing the BBI issue to Kenyans instead of chatting the proper ways of reviving the country’s economy.
Speaking in Mombasa on Saturday Sarai urged Kenyans to ignore the BBI debate and prepare to floor Raila and his entire team come 2022 general elections.
According to Sarai the government has all the institutions to tackle issues raised in the Building Bridges Initiative and it should employ such initiatives instead of imposing to Kenyans the unnecessary initiative.
According to Sarai, it is clear that BBI is meant to create leadership post for old guards who terribly failed in changing the lives of Kenyans while in leadership.
“Do not use political language to lure Kenyans into useless document in the name of uniting Kenyans, we do not need to amend the constitution for us to get proper leadership,” noted Mr. Sarai.
The former Mombasa Senator noted that Raila has been cheating Kenyans over the BBI initiative instead of telling Kenyans the truth about the motive behind it.
“We all know who are the beneficiaries in this initiative, it has nothing to do with uniting Kenyans,” added Mr. Sarai.
He appealed to Coastal people to detach themselves with the BBI narrative and focus more on how to change leadership in in the 2022 general elections.
The BBI report to be handed over to President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga has sparked heated debate and major political divisions in the country.
However, Raila Odinga has defended the initiative with Deputy President William Ruto rubbishing the initiative.
