Jombu Member of Parliament Badi Twalib has been axed as the Orange Democratic Movemnet Jomvu constituency Chairperson.

ODM Party Mombasa branch Chairperson Geoffrey Busaka announced that the recently de-whipped Jomvu MP Badi Twalib has already been replaced.

He said the MP and his entire committee at the constituency level have been disbanded since the MP has become an errant party member.

The two-term MP was de-whipped from the National Assembly Budget and Appropriation Committee following a purge on Deputy President Dr. William Ruto allies.

Busaka said the MP has been replaced in an acting capacity by Mikindani ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Juma Renson Thoya.

He accused the MP of abandoning party affairs in the constituency and also revealed that all committee members who worked under the errant MP will also be immediately replaced.

Busaka said the party was to hold branch elections in June but the process was halted due to Coronavirus pandemic.

However he said the party headquarters is working on a strategy to hold branch elections by August if the disease would have been controlled.

He said ODM was a party that respects democracy and divergent opinions but will not hesitate to take action against members who fail to toe the party line.

Thoya said he was ready to step into the shoes of the MP and dedicated his time to party affairs and serving party members.
