Jubilee Party Deputy Chair David Murathe has fearlessly stated what many from the Mount Kenya region are afraid of.

Fearless Murathe who has been at the receiving end after his Wednesday remarks in the company of Luhya leaders among them COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli and Amani Party Leader Musalia Mudavadi when he said that Deputy President William Ruto should accompany President Uhuru Kenyatta for retirement in 2022.

Murathe further stated that Mount Kenya leaders had no agreement with Deputy President William Ruto on 2022 presidential bid.

Murathe said that both leaders, President and his Deputy should retire in 2022.

‘We don’t have any agreement between us and Deputy President William Ruto, if their is any then it’s between Uhuru and Ruto but not us,” noted Murathe.

However, Ruto’s team led by Nominated MP David Sankok said that Murathe is a political conman who does not speak for anyone but himself.

Sankok further rubbished Murathe’s remarks saying that they are only aimed at creating discomfort and political bickering between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto supporters.

“Let him keep his opinion, he is entitled to it, where was he when Uhuru and Ruto agreed on a 10 year deal presidency each?” noted Sankok.

Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa thwarted Murathe’s remarks saying that Murathe was entitled to his sentiments and that he does not represent the Mount Kenya region.

He cautioned Murathe against dragging Mount Kenya region into 2022 presidential successions.

However, the Deputy Chair Jubilee Party has defended his remarks saying he was only stating what will happen.

He said that many Mount Kenya Leaders were afraid to lay it out.

On his part, COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli told off Ruto after the DP opposed the proposed referendum saying that referendum is a must for the Country to prosper.
