Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has threatened to ditch the Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya political coalition led by pits presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga for the Kenya Kwanza political alliance led by Deputy President William Ruto.

Sonko seems to take the actions following his unending court battles that have since thrown him out of the Mombasa gubernatorial race.

In an interview Sonko says he will support United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Mombasa gubernatorial candidate Hassan Omar Hassan if Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo will not be cleared to vie for the seat.

The supreme court upheld the impeachment verdict, sealing Sonko’s Mombasa gubernatorial bid.

The three-judge bench led by Anne Ong’injo, Stephen Githinji and Olga Sewe had earlier given Wiper party to present another candidate for the Mombasa gubernatorial candidate but failed to do so within the 72 hours duration, throwing wiper party into disarray.

At the moment, Sonko and his running mate Ali Mbogo remain out of the ballot barely 10 days to the general elections.

Sonko has vowed to back the UDA gubernatorial candidate and completely ditch the Azimio la Umoja if his plights will not be resolved.

Sonko has already set foot at the East African court seeking to be included in the Mombasa gubernatorial race.
