The witnessed political battle in the Senate signaled the end of the Jubilee political party.
The party has recently seen major divisions with President Uhuru Kenyatta evidently seen to be cracking the whip on members deemed disloyal.
Barely a week ago, Senate majority leader and Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and the Senate Chief whip Susan Kihika were ousted.
On Friday it was the turn of Tharaka nithi Senator Professor Kithure Kindiki.
Kindiki was ousted after he allegedly snubbed last week’s senate meeting called by Jubilee party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta’s.
Professor Kindiki said his ouster was predetermined.
Supported by Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen Kindiki however said he was not surprised but disappointed.
In the Friday sitting 54 senators supported the ouster while 7 opposed.
All 61 senators were in the chamber during the motion.
The party seems to be cracking the whip against members allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
However, Ruto supporters have vowed not to relent in support of the Deputy President’s 2022 presidential ambition.
The political battles have indicated a failed house without clear objective of debating serious matters revolving around accountability and development in the country.
