Premier Hospital owner Ahmed Dakawou dies in Mombasa


Renowned investor and Premier Hospital proprietor Mr Ahmed Noor Dakawou is dead.

Dakawou is said to have succumbed to heart attack at his home in Mombasa on Saturday afternoon.

Dakawou started the Premier Hospital in Mombasa and later expanded the private health care services to Nairobi.

In Mombasa, the modern health facility is Located in Nyali.

“Though we are located in Nyali this health facility is for all and we are not classifying patients here,” Dakawou once said while celebrating the hospital’s tremendous growth recently.

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Nalala mourned Dakawou and termed him as a selfless investor.

“It is with great sadness that I have learnt of the passing on of Mr Ahmed Noor Dakawou. Ahmed was the Committee Chairman of Masjid Rahma, Hurlingham, Nairobi and the Chairperson Premier Hospital, Mombasa. This is a big loss to the mosque and the community at large. My deepest condolences to the family and Friends,” posted the Tourism CS.

Muslim cleric and Scholar Sheikh Jamaludin Osman also mourned Dakawou.

He recognised him as an investor who had a humanity touch to the needy.

“The eyes are shading tears, and the heart is grieved, we will not say, except what pleases our Lord. Indeed we are grieved by your separation, Hajj Dakawou,” he posted.

Dakawou also owned the Dakawou Transport Limited company among other chain of companies.

He was buried in Nairobi on Sunday afternoon after prayers.
