A renowned Human rights defender Hussein Khalid has lost valuables, including electronics and cash after his house was broken into.
Khalid who is now based in Nairobi was not around when the unknown people broke into his Ganjoni house within Mombasa Island ransacking all corners of the house.
The burglars broke into every room in the three-bed-roomed house making away with the electronics, cash, and clothes.
It is not yet clear whether it was a normal burglary or was a choreographed incident.
“At the moment I am treating this as a normal burglary incident, I have already reported the incident to the police,” said the vocal human rights activist and Haki Africa Executive Director.
Mr. Khalid further noted that he was with his family in Nairobi when the incident happened.
“Actually I have been away with my family in Nairobi when the incident happened,” He said.
All the belongings including his important documents were scattered all over the house and the activist could not immediately establish the quantity of what had been stolen.
