Several people have been injured during a stampede at the busy Likoni ferry channel.
Ferry users complained of cueing for too long on the Mombasa Island side while the ferry management was concentrating more on motorists crossing the channel.
The locals lost patience and started running towards the ferries completely ignoring the anti-Covid-19 safety rules set by the Kenya Ferry Services Company.
Many women and children were injured during the stampede.
Humanitarian body Kenya Red Cross society Officers rushed to the scene to provide first aid services and as well rush the injured to the Coast General referral hospital.
The Kenya Ferry Services management is yet to issue any statement on the 7 pm incident.
