Kwale Deputy Governor Fatuma Achani graced Bungale Super Cup Finals at Mkelekeleni grounds Kubo south ward, Matuga Sub-county.
The tournament that involved Kubo South ward teams was organised by Social Services County Executive Member Ramadhan Masoud Bungale, aiming at enabling the youth from the region showcase their talents.
Achani said talented youth can only prosper by maintaining high levels of discipline and dedication.
“I have seen the levels of discipline and talents, therefore I urge all youths to remain focused so that they prosper in life,” said the Kwale Deputy Governor.
Ms Achani revealed that by engaging youth in sporting activities, it will deter them from indulging in societal evils among them drug use and criminal activities.
“Very soon we will engage the youth in the County Inter-wards league aimed at selecting a team that will represent Kwale County at the national competitions,” she said.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bungale disclosed that Kwale County government has been working closely with the youth in ensuring no talent goes to waste.
He appealed to the youthful generation within the county to fully support the initiative so that they directly benefit from the activities and any other resourceful engagement that may come along with such initiatives.
“The county government clearly understands that it will not make greater development steps without fully involving the youth in all its development aspects,” said Mr. Bungale.

Rocky Stars FC from Mkundi emerged the winners after defeating Ngekewa FC from Mkelekeleni by one goal.
Participants received various tokens of appreciation with the teams bagging sets of jerseys, balls, stockings and other cash prizes.
Other County officials who also graced the occasion were Roads County Executive Member Hemedi Mwabudzo, Chief officer Francisca Kilonzo, Political Advisor Salim Mrina among others.
