Coast senior Golfer wins the 2022 Nation Classic golf tournament

Coast senior Golfer Salim Tweshe surprised colleagues by emerging the overall winner in the 2022 Nation Classic golf tournament played at the par 71 Nyali Golf and Country Club course in Mombasa County on Saturday.

Playing off handicap 19 Tweshe returned an excellent 42 stable ford points to claim the overall title in the daylong 18 holes stable ford tourney sponsored by Nation Media that attracted 200 golfers.

Michael Kariuki playing off handicap 24 was the runners up on a countback score of 39 points after tying on the same score with handicap 23Tetsuo Hashiguchi who was the Men runners up.

Coast Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) Representative Mary Mariga playing off handicap 16 was the Lady winner on a countback score of 39 points, tying on the same score with lady runners up handicap 29 Pauline Gachihi.

Dr Wilfred Kiboro playing off handicap 29 won the staff prize on 27 points.
Handicap 9 Nathan Ngweno was the junior winner with 40 points, while handicap 14 Joe Kaindi with 38 points and handicap 15 Simon Karemu with 33 points were the Guest winner and Guest runners up respectively.

The High handicapper’s prize of 37 points was won by handicap 37, Rayan Pasta.
At Kericho Golf Club on the same day, the 2022 Vivo Energy Kenya-sponsored Golf tournament was won by handicap 20 Tobias Messo who carded 38 stable ford points.

He beat handicap 11 Kibet Too to the Men winner slot by a single point in the daylong 18 holes stable ford tourney that attracted 150 golfers.

Handicap 13 Dorcas Bett was the Lady winner on 35 points and handicap 21 Lydia Jebichi was the Lady runner-up winner by a single point difference.

The Division one category was won by handicap 1 Nelson Koech on 36 points while Division two on 36 points and Division three with 41 points were won by handicap 36 Anthony Korir and handicap 38 Joyce Cherotich respectively.

Japhet Songwa playing off handicap 15 was the Guest winner on 31 points and handicap 1 Fidelis Kimazi with 32 points was the staff winner

At Ruiru Sports Club, handicap 20 George Wandera brought 39 points to emerge the overall winner of the Hon. Aloise Kinyanjui golf tourney played on the same day.

Kames Kibogo playing off handicap 10 was the Men winner with a countback score of 38 points after tying on the same score with handicap 16 Kelvin Kuria was the men’s runner-up.

The lady winner on 38 points was handicap 33 Rose Kagin while handicap 18 Sophie Mbochi with 37 points and handicap 16 Victor Kuria on 38 points were the Lady Runners up and Guest winners respectively.
