Kenyan Tong-Il Moo-Do team has embarked on a serious training ahead of the 6TH edition of Mombasa open Tong –Il Moo-Do Martial Arts championship schedule for September 8th -9th this year.
Kenya Tong- Il Moo-Do Federation Chair Clarence Mwakio said that the preparations for the tournament are on course stating that Kenya is ready to host the tournament that will bring together over 25 teams across the world.
Mwakio urged stakeholders to support and nurture the sport saying that it will largely contribute to the growth of sports tourism in the country.
Addressing the media at ‘Dog section’ hall in Mombasa after an intensive training, Mwakio said that training has gained momentum in all parts of the country exuding hopes that Kenya will shine in the Annual Martial Arts tournament slated for September at Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa .
Kenyan Tong –Il Moo-Do Head coach Ibrahim Mchumba said that the team has undergone intensive and extensive muscle warm up training and ready to tackle their opponents around the globe.
The team shined in their five earlier tournaments held in the region bagging gold and bronze medals.
Teams participating in the forthcoming tournament are expected to land in the country during the weekend.
