Kwale leaders and sports fans were on Tuesday thrown into mourning of their former SS Assad FC player Mohammed Mwagutsi, famously known as Vidich.
Vidich as mostly referred by team members and sports fan served SS Assad FC until 2019 when he left for a different team, upcountry.
However, Vidich was among the SS Assad FC players who travelled to Nairobi barely three days ago where Assad faced Luanda Villa FC at Camp Toyoyo ground in Nairobi on Sunday.
Assad crashed Luanda Villa 2-1 and qualified to participate in the National Super League.
Kwale Deputy Governor Fatuma Achani who was the first person to welcome the team at the Ukunda Bus Park in Ukunda, Kwale County after the victory today mourned the talented player.
Vidich is said to have experienced a lot of pains in his ribs on Tuesday morning and was rushed to hospital but died shortly thereafter.
The soccer Star is said to have been suffering sever pains in his ribs for the last four months according to his brother Omar Masoud, however the disease was not directly diagnosed or causes detected earlier.

“Though he left the team in 2019, his footsteps are still evident from the young and disciplined SS Assad FC players who have lifted Kwale county name high at the national level,” said Achani.
The deputy Governor sent her condolence message to Vidich’s family for the great loss.
Vidich will be laid to rest at their Magutu home in Ukunda, Kwale County after the 4 pm prayers at Magutu mosque on Tuesday.
