Telkom and USIU jets off to Abuja for a hockey continental show piece

Kenya’s Women’s hockey Premier League sides Telkom and USIU departed for Abuja, Nigeria for the 2018 edition of Africa Cup for Club Championship.

The only Kenyan representatives in the 2018 Africa Cup hockey Club Championship  jetted off the country on Thursday for the continental showpiece slated for 15th to 22nd December 2018 in Abuja, Nigeria.

The two champions who are dominating the Kenyan hockey league are expected to shine in the championship having prepared themselves thoroughly and ensuring they are on a perfect form.

Telkom, who are fresh from clinching the Premier League title, will be seeking to reclaim the continental crown which eluded them last year after losing narrowly in the finals.

USIU on their part are also aiming to put a fight and stamp their presence in contending for the title.

Kenya will however not be represented in the Men’s category this year after both Kenya Police and new Champions Butali Warriors pulled out of the competition, citing various reasons.
