WANGARI WINS AT RUIRU WHILE WASIKE TAKES LEAD AT NYALI-GOLF

Youngster Chanelle Wangari carded 72 gross to emerge the overall winner of the Ruiru Ladies 2022 Open Tournament played at Ruiru Sports Club on Saturday.

The handicap 0 carded lady Golfer brought the best day’s results ahead of handicap 0 Mercy Nyanchama who was the division A Gross winner with 82 gross and handicap 4 Nancy Wairimu claimed the runners-up slot on 83 gross.

Division B was won by handicap 20 Veronica Muthiani on 87 gross while handicap 19 Susan Ngure with 91 gross was the runners up on 91 gross.

The overall net winner was handicap 32 Hannah Gatu who carded 68 nett, while handicap 15 Naomi Wakesho on 71 nett and handicap 1 Racheal Ndei with 75 nett were the Division A Nett winner and runners up respectively.

M.Wahome playing off handicap 31 won the Division A section after returning 68 nett and handicap 29 Caroline Muigai was the runners-up with 70 nett.

At Nyali Golf and Country Club Course in Mombasa County on the same day, a fourteen years old youngster, Fidel Wasike outclassed Veteran Golfers after emerging the overall winner.

Handicap 28 Wasike carded 45 stable ford points to claim the lead in the 2022 Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (KAHC) Golf day, beating a team of 172 golfers at the daylong 18 holes tourney.

The Tourney culminated after two days of the annual KAHC symposium supported by Multichoice Kenya’s Dstv Business which pumped Ksh.1 million.
It was also jointly sponsored by Brookside and Coca Cola among others of which the proceeds will be channeled to a charitable cause.

Nitin Pandya playing off handicap 28 was the Men winner on 44 points while handicap 21 Bruno on 43 points and handicap 28 Sammy Olinda with 42 points were the runners up and third-placed respectively.

The Lady winner prize was scooped by handicap 32 Hellen Wanjiru on a score of 42 points while handicap 34 Faith Muteti with 41 points settled for the runners-up slot and handicap 36 Rose Kinyanjui was third with 40 points.

KAHC member winner’s prize was won by handicap 40 Pauline Nduva who brought 40 points and the Guest winner on 36 points was handicap 47, Harald Kampa.

Club Captain Zafir Din thanked the sponsors for staging the event at the Nyali and urged them to bring it back next year.
