Barely a week after Tononoka Boys High school in Mombasa was closed due to Coronavirus threats, the school Principal Mohammed Khamis has succumbed to the disease.
His Deputy Mr. Nzaro confirmed the death saying Khamis died early Monday morning.
The school was shut after 11 teachers and staffs contracted the virus.
Students were ordered back home to pave way for fumigation exercise.
The form four students are to resume in November 2nd.
The same Covid-19 threats were reported at Star of the Sea primary and secondary schools where four teachers were reported to have contracted the virus.
Mombasa County Commissioner Gilbert Kitiyo said the three schools will remain closed for a period of two weeks to allow thorough fumigation exercise.
Parents have been reluctant in sending their students back to the affected schools.
