A woman is fighting for her life at the Moi Teaching and referral hospital in Voi Taita Taveta county after she swallowed heroin pellets to avoid arrest.
Pauline Mugure, 48 was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after she swallowed sachets of heroin she is suspected of trafficking.
According to report, Mugure consumed four sachets of suspected heroin in order to avoid arrest.
Officers from the DCI rushed her to the Moi County referral hospital for urgent medical attention.
Detectives in charge of the investigations rushed her to the Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi for urgent medical attention.
Police have further inspected her house and recovered other sachets hidden at the home.
