Woman who died after the car she was driving plunged into the Indian Ocean at Kibarani in Mombasa has finally been identified.
Winnie Achieng’ Odundo together with her son Gift Otieno were driving from Changamwe towards Mombasa Island when her Toyota Vitz car registration no. KCY, 556B plunged into the Indian Ocean.
According to police, the vehicle was at a very high speed and Achieng’ 33 tried to overtake a Bodaboda when she hit a pavement and the vehicle plunged into the Indian Ocean.
His son managed to swim out of the waters, saving his life.
Though fishermen around dived and saved the lady, she was pronounced dead on arrival at the Coast General Referral hospital.

The vehicle was towed out of the Indian Ocean.
Police have since launched investigation over the Wednesday morning incident.
