The ongoing anti- drug forums in Mombasa will highly target the youthful generation.
Anti-Drug organisation Reachout Centre Trust says during long end of the year holidays, youths remain vulnerable to drugs.
The organisation’s Executive Director Taib Abdulrahman said such anti- drug forums will deter the youth from evils.
“It all starts with a single puff of cigarette or a sip of alcohol and one is fully immersed into drugs, we don’t want such narratives anymore,” said Mr. Taib
Speaking in Mombasa on Saturday, the renowned anti-drug activist urged other working partners to join in fighting drug addiction in the county.
He said youth are more vulnerable especially during holiday season where they mingle and enjoy their free time with their peers.
“It is the time we all need to be vigilant and monitor our children’s activities as parents,” noted Mr. Taib.
He said already various anti-drug engagement forums were being conducted within Mvita constituency so as to deter the youthful generation from indulging in drug use.
He appealed to the clergy and community leaders to join hands in safeguarding the youth and especially the minors.
