Youth in Mombasa have been tasked to embrace developmental activism in a bid to ensure community gets the required basic and humanitarian services.
Youth mentor Mahmoud Noor urged youth to positively play the monitoring role and put relevant authorities to work.
Mr. Noor who recently witnessed the swearing in of Mombasa youth Assembly leaders, termed the initiative as noble and challenged the youth to remain focused.
“These roles come with huge responsibilities. As youth you should cease unnecessary political battles and arguments and remain on course,” said Noor.
According to the Swahilipot Hub Patron, Mombasa youth should remain vigilant, focused and dedicated to transform their lives and that of their own community.
He tasked the youth to play positive and constructive criticism with an objective of ensuring good governance.
The renowned youth mentor said youth remain vulnerable to various societal evils urging them to remain attentive to their growth and empower their peers as well.

Noor, who also chairs the Kenya Red Cross Society Mombasa branch board appealed to the youth to also embrace volunteerism so that they closely engage their own community on various societal issues.
On his part, the youth assembly President Mbarack Hamid vowed to foreground youth issues in various authorities within the county.
He admitted that positive youth activism has the capability of uplifting the society.
“Mombasa Youth Assembly will strive towards bridging the gap between the county government and the youth,” he said.
His sentiments were backed by a Member of the Assembly Omar Chai.

Mr. Chai, a renowned youth activist said as Mombasa County youth they will strive to ensure an all-inclusive leadership.
He said, apart from closely monitoring the execution of various projects within the county they will also venture into empowering fellow youth.
“Our duty is mainly to front issues revolving around youth and ensure our peers are fully involved in various developmental deliberations,” noted Mr. Chai.
