Youths in Mombasa have been urged to put more efforts in taming the spread of Coronavirus.
They have been further challenged to use the little resources they have to create awareness to locals on the dangers of Coronavirus.
Speaking in Majengo, Mombasa, Mvita Community Development Organization- MV-CODE Coordinator Hassan Omar Abdallah said youths are equipped with adequate information about Covid-19 and it will be prudent if they impart the same knowledge to locals.
Though he acknowledged many youths are going through various challenges in implementing the awareness programs, he encouraged them not to relent in their efforts.
“We have the task of educating our own community about the deadly disease and we should exactly implement that,” he said.
Mr. Abdallah however appealed for more support from the county and national government so that youths can effectively attain the objective.
“As youths, we are going through challenges but we must press on, our political leaders should lend a hand as well,” he noted.
He urged Mombasa dwellers to support the ongoing mass testing exercise by participating in the noble cause.
He said by locals getting tested they will evade the deadly virus.
Recently, a section of Mombasa residents rejected the Covid-19 mass testing exercise.
The move forced the government to impose cessation of movement in Old town area for 15 days.
