Orange Democratic Movement-ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has defended Mombasa Governor and ODM Deputy Party leader Ali Hassan Joho, after the recent decision to wipe out two ODM rebels.
Sifuna said that the decision to crack the whip on Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori was purely the National Executive Council-NEC verdict and not Joho’s.
Sifuna however reiterated that the two MP’s have the right to seek redress but should not blame Joho for their political tribulations.
“Joho is our Deputy Party leader but such decisions are purely from the party’s National Executive Council, let Dori and Jumwa tackle their political troubles,” he recently said.
Meanwhile Political temperatures are already high in Malindi after Jumwa and Dori were shown the door from ODM Party.
Malindi ODM Party supporters are already in early campaigns calling for a by-election saying that they are ready to send Jumwa packing.
However, Msambweni Legislature Suleiman Dori dared Raila to throw him out of the party.
He said that he was not scared by a by-election and that he would win the election by a large margin.
“I am still a bona fide member of ODM but if they call for a by-election I am ready and I will trounce whoever will be my opponent,” he said.
Joho has since remained mum over the matter despite all the blames from the two Coast legislatures who also lost their leadership in various parliamentary committees.
