Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has been tasked to put in black and white his presidential ambition.
His 2017 gubernatorial battle opponent Suleiman Shahbal challenged Joho to openly declare if he will go for the top seat come 2022.
According to Shahbal who chairs government parastatal Kenya Trade Network said if Joho comes out openly about his 2022 presidential plans, he will set the Coast political pace.
According to Shahbal, Joho is better placed to lead the region to the top race and he should never back down.
“I will fully support your ambition, and I urge the Coastal community to back your move we must be in top leadership come 2022,” noted Shahbal.
He urged Coastal people to embrace unity and support their own so that they benefit from their resources.
“We feel discriminated because we are not united, let’s unite and bring the change we want,” he reiterated.
On his part Mvita member if Parliament Abdulswamad Sharif Nassir urged Joho not to relent since he has the support he needs to vie for presidency.
“We demand that Joho declares he is going for the country’s top seat, so that we create an early roadmap for the fierce political battle,” added the Mvita Legislature.
He said the Mombasa Governor has what it takes to lead the country and should strategies with locals.
“Joho should focus more on National politics he is fit to clinch the seat,” noted Nassir.
