Malindi Legislature Aisha Jumwa and her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori may face the axe after they vowed not to appear before ODM disciplinary committee on October 10th.

Jumwa said that she has no business appearing before the committee as she has done nothing wrong by openly drumming support for Deputy President William Ruto for his 2022 Presidential bid.

Jumwa who accompanied Ruto during his Coast tour said that if Raila Odinga was closely working with President Uhuru Kenyatta then he should leave his juniors to work with the DP.

Jumwa said that she will not be coward by the Orange Democratic Party disciplinary committee and that she would get busy elsewhere during the 10th October, the scheduled summon day.

“I supported ‘Baba’ to an extent of being arrested and detained it’s now DP’s time, I will not relent,” said Aisha.

She said that during the 10th October she would rather go to Malindi for a holiday if she will not be very busy serving her constituents.

On his part, Msambweni Member of Parliament Suleiman Dori rubbished the summons from the ODM disciplinary committee saying that he will not honour the summons.

He said that he has not received any letter from the committee and that he will support Ruto’s 2022 Presidential bid.

Dori said that he was at liberty to make his political decisions and since the Deputy President was considerate of the Coast region he will back him up.

“We have been for many years yearning for development projects and the DP has heeded our cry what else do we want? We do not eat politics but development,” he noted.

Dori doubles up as Coast Parliamentary group Chair while Aisha Jumwa serves as the ODM Member in the Parliamentary Service Commission.

The two are backed up by over 30 Coastal ODM leaders who together accompanied Ruto during his Coast tour.
