The youngest Member of the Mombasa County Assembly Charles Kitula has been axed as the Assembly’s Chief whip.
Kitula who has served as the County Assembly’s Chief whip recently publicly opposed Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho’s various nominations, a move that has landed him out of the Chief whip office.
He was replaced by Chaani MCA Junior Wambua.
No reasons were given over the move, however Mombasa residents are reading the ‘obvious’.
Mr. Kitula, Freere town Ward representative earlier complained of being sidelined in the governor’s bursary fund that was distributed to all Mombasa MCA’s.
In a separate occurrence, Kitula would later criticize Joho’s nomination of Taufiq Balala as the Water and infrastructure County executive member saying Balala is ineffective.

“I fully support my Governor for the reforms in the county cabinet but I am strongly against the nomination of Taufiq Balala,” he said.
Kitula has turned out to be the only young and daring Mombasa MCA who publicly opposed his Boss.
He has recently been posting on his social media platforms that he fears no one.
His abrupt change in the political tune may have rubbed shoulders with his Governor the wrong way.
However, the MCA is never lying low and has assured his voters that he will serve them diligently.
