Kwale Woman representative Zuleikha Hassan was booed by locals at Ukunda in Msambweni constituency, Kwale County after she called on Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya and his Deputy Fatuma Achani to support ODM candidate in Msambweni parliamentary race Omar Boga.
Zuleikha said both Mvurya and Achani started their politics in ODM political party and they should return to the party to help Boga take the day during the December 15, slated Msambweni by-election.
Zuleikha appealed to Mvurya and Achani to drum support for Boga and drop independent candidate Feisal Abdallah Bader in the tough race.
“I appeal to both Mvurya and Achani to join our ODM campaign wagon so that Boga sails into leadership,” said Zuleikha.
However, her remarks caused jeering and booing from the charged crowd.
Stiff competition
Locals who attended the forum vowed to stick with their leaders and support independent candidate Feisal Abdallah Bader.
Abdallah has received the backing of both Kwale Governor and his Deputy Fatuma Achani,
His campaigns have also been supported by Deputy President William Ruto.
On his part, ODM candidate Omar Boga has received the backing of the entire Mombasa and Kwale Coast ODM brigade led by Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho.
Msambweni seat fell vacant following the death of the area MP Suleiman Dori in March, 2020.
The late Dori was an ODM Legislature.
