Deputy President William Ruto should resign if he cannot backup the President in the fight against graft in the Country.
Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura said Ruto has not shown any efforts in fighting graft and he should relinquish his seat.
According to Mwaura, Ruto has been linked to major corruption scandals and he should stop accusing leaders who fully support the fight against corruption in the country.
A total of 12 political parties have accused the DP for his reckless remarks on the 21 billion shillings that was meant for construction of water dams in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
“If you a thief, you are a thief, do not drug your community in your evil deeds,” said Mwaura.
On his part, Nyeri town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu said that the fight against graft is inevitable and whoever is blocking it will not succeed.
“We are talking about embezzled of public funds, people must stop stealing from the public,” said the legislature.
Meanwhile, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta not to relent in the fight against corruption in the Country.
Sifuna said the country has become a laughing stock as it has been marred by massive corruption.
He said the fight against graft doe not target any tribe neither is it political.
“Politicians and Kenyans of goodwill who are pained by the current graft situation in the Country should take the lead role in the fight against corruption,” noted Mr. Sifuna.
He said without protecting public funds, attaining the big four agenda will remain a dream.
“Seeking solace from your tribe whenever you are implicated in graft does not help, this trend must stop and all those involved in economic crimes punished according to the law,” added Sifuna.
In the recent past, the DP has been on the receiving end linked to major graft scandals.
However his political allies have attributed the situation to the famous ‘Handshake’ between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga,”
