Legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto have sent a strong signal to their rival group allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta to dare table an impeachment motion against the DP.
The MP’s among them Gatundu South Legislature Moses Kuria and Nyali MP Mohammed Ali warned their rival group to table the impeachment motion.
According to Ali, those against the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) are being genuine to Kenyans since the initiative is purely political.
Ali urged Kenyans to ignore the BBI Initiative since it is not going to benefit them or solve problems in the country according to him.
“We want Kenyans to clearly understand that BBI has nothing to do with their lives but to create political positions for few greedy politicians,” said Mr. Ali.
He said the MP’s will support Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid no matter all the strong machinery against him.
On his part, Gatundu Member of Parliament Moses Kuria asked President Uhuru Kenyatta and his close ally and ODM Raila Odinga to cease from forcing Kenyans to embrace the BBI initiative.
“Ruto is not any other person you can diminish, he is the Deputy President of this country, why undermine him?” posed the controversial MP.
The debate was set to the floor by a group of MP’s allies to President Uhuru Kenyatta led by Kieni MP Kanini Kega who called for Ruto’s resignation.
Kega said Ruto was undermining the President and derailing efforts to change the country’s way of leadership.
“The DP should be fully backing President Kenyatta by now but he is opposing him,” noted Mr. Kega.
However, Ruto’s team is breathing fire daring any Legislature to table an impeachment motion against the DP at the National assembly.
