Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has cancelled all the sitting allowances for Kirinyaga Members of the Country Assembly.
Waiguru is said to have channeled all the allowances to the County’s anti-Covid-19 kitty.
The governor however is yet to respond to the reports.
Meanwhile the Kirinyaga MCA’s have said they are not yet done with the government.
They have vowed to take Waiguru head on until all the corruption deals in the county are contained.
“How can you remove in office junior staffs that are ordered by their Boss to implement some corrupt deals and leave the Boss in office?” posed the County assembly majority leader David Kinyua.
Not yet over
According to Kinyua the County assembly had all the evidence to remove Waiguru from office, however, the Senate ignored the evidence.
“We are not done yet, if protecting public resources is wrong doing so be it but we will not relent,” noted Kinyua.
He said the Kirinyaga assembly members will fight for what is rightfully for the Kirinyaga people.
Kinyua reiterated that the ward representatives will not condone corruption from the county high office.
Waiguru is accused of corruption, misuse of office and nepotism in awarding tenders, allegations that she denied and the Senate recently cleared her.
