The Kenya premier league will return in November, 20 sports officials have said.
However, the league has acquired new name Betking Premier League after it successfully secured sponsor for the entire 2020/2021 premier league season.
After a general council meeting of Kenya top tier league -Betking -FKF premier League held last Friday to deliberate on a safe return of football, it was agreed that the national league should resume.
This was informed by the need to ensure completion of the 2020/2021 league season in good time and in line with the global football calendar.
The progression of the pre-season training sessions by the league clubs that is currently ongoing and with the successful International friendly between Harambee stars and Chimpolopolo of Zambia while observing health ministry safety guidelines laid positive grounds for the safe resumption of the league.
The General council has put in place all the necessary measures to ensure the league is conducted within the existing health regulations in the country to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved.

“The General council wishes to see commencement of the 2020/2021 season with a league kick-off match on November, 20 because beyond that date it will be impossible to commence and complete the league,” read part of the statement.
Betking Premier League will release the draft 2020/2021 season fixtures on October, 14, Wednesday to enable Clubs plan for the season ahead.
